Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya

Bengaluru : The 164th birth anniversary of Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya was celebrated on 11 January at Mythic Society, Bengaluru, under the aegis of Malaviya Mission, Bengaluru. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Shri Suresh Nayak, Head – IT Milan, and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Devabrata Das, Director, IIIT Bengaluru.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. The Chief Guest Shri Suresh Nayak, Guest of Honour Dr. Devabrata Das, Shri Anurag Tripathi (President), Shri Animesh Narayan Rai (General Secretary), Shri Sanjeev Gupta (Immediate Past President) of Mahamana Malaviya Mission, Bengaluru, offered floral tributes to Mahamana Malaviya after lighting the lamp.

Shri H Srinivas Shastri presented the welcome address.

On this occasion, individuals who have made notable contributions in the fields of social service and education were felicitated. Dr. Usha Rani presented a poetic recitation on Mahamana Malaviya .

The Mission’s General Secretary, Shri Animesh Rai, presented a detailed account of the Mission’s activities and also outlined the programs planned for the year 2026. The Mission’s President, Shri Anurag Tripathi, appealed to the dignitaries for their continued support. Shri Govind Ram Agarwal, Secretary – South India, highlighted the Mission’s objectives at the national level.

In his address, Chief Guest Shri Suresh Nayak spoke about the unparalleled contributions and deep patriotism of Mahamana Malaviya, describing him as one of the greatest leaders of the pre-Independence era. He also highlighted the exceptional contribution of BHU students in nation-building and emphasized the sacred principle of “Nation First” in the present times.

Guest of Honour Dr. Devabrata Das stated that Mahamana Malaviya was so visionary that he introduced academic disciplines at BHU nearly a hundred years ago which remain highly relevant even in the modern era.

On this occasion, the special commemorative edition of the Mission’s quarterly journal “Mission Sandesh” was also released. The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Arun Pandey. Bhajan performances were presented by Shri Nishant Malaviya and Smt. Geeta Pandey. The ceremony concluded with the singing of Vande Mataram, followed by lunch for the guests.
